Sal Removals moves flats, houses and offices in Mayfair. The crew is our own professionally trained team and the vans are our own, both out of our yard in Kingsbury, north-west London, and we work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. A one-bed flat is typically a morning for two movers, a three-bed house a full day for three.

Every job is surveyed before it is priced, free, and the price comes to you in writing. What we look at is the volume, the way out of the building, what has to be taken apart and how much of the packing you want to hand over.

Prices

A studio is from £249, a one-bed flat from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399. Office moves start from £240 for up to ten desks and from £2,300 for ten to thirty. For a part load, a single piece or a delivery that needs two pairs of hands, a man and van is from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, two-hour minimum.

Getting a van to the door

The building usually decides the shape of the day. Before quoting we ask whether there is a lift and whether it needs booking or padding, whether a porter or managing agent sets hours for removals, whether there is a separate goods entrance, and how close a Luton can legally stand to the door.

Where the answer is that it cannot stand anywhere, the council sells a bay suspension or a dispensation for one named vehicle. The fee and the notice period belong to the borough and are revised regularly, so we check the current ones for your address at the time of booking and tell you which is the cheaper of the two.

Packing and handling

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house, or from £99 for kitchen and fragile items only. Furniture is blanket-wrapped indoors before it goes anywhere near a doorway, glass and artwork travel upright and padded, and every box is marked with the room it came from. Empty boxes and paper are collected afterwards if you want them gone.

Packing yourself instead is fine: we deliver boxes, tape and bubble wrap beforehand, priced per pack.

Storage between dates

If the new address is not ready, everything comes off the van into sealed storage containers. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearance and disposal

What you are not taking can go on the same visit. A single room, garage or loft cleared is from £149, a one-bed flat from £349 and a whole three-bed house from £749, and a waste load runs from £69 for one item to £329 for a full van. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDU469343, so it is sorted for reuse and recycling and only the remainder goes to a licensed transfer station. The detail is on our house clearance page.
