A move here is one job with one point of contact, not a set of bookings you have to coordinate yourself. The same firm surveys the property, supplies the boxes, packs what you want packed, dismantles the furniture, drives it, rebuilds it and takes the empty cartons away afterwards.

What a move costs

A studio is from £249, a one-bed flat from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399, for a local move without packing. Anything smaller than a studio is priced as a man and van, from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, on a two-hour minimum.

Every price follows a free survey. We look at the volume, the stairs, the lift, where the van can stand and what has to come apart, then put a fixed figure in writing. If nothing changes, nothing on the invoice changes either.

Access sets the timetable

Period buildings, converted houses and blocks with a porter all have their own way of doing a moving day, so the survey asks about the building first. Tell us how many flights and whether they turn, whether there is a lift and whether it must be booked or padded, whether removals are limited to certain hours, and how close a Luton van can get to the door.

Where there is no legal place for the van to stand, the council can suspend a bay or grant a dispensation for a named vehicle. Fees and notice periods are set by the borough and change, so we check the current ones for your street when you book rather than repeating an old figure, and we tell you which is the cheaper route for one van.

Packing, or just the materials

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house, with kitchen and fragile items only from £99. Everything is labelled by room as it is packed so it is unloaded where it belongs. Storage while dates settle

If the new property is not ready, everything goes from our van into sealed storage containers and comes out when your keys do. Storage is from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearing what you are not taking

Furniture that is not going with you can be cleared on the same visit rather than left for someone else to deal with. A single room, garage or loft is from £149, a one-bed flat from £349 and a whole three-bed house from £749. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDL469340, so what we take is sorted for reuse and recycling and the remainder goes to a licensed transfer station.
