Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you book a removal, man and van, house clearance, waste removal, packing or storage job with us, and when you use this website. Please read them before you book. If anything is unclear, call 020 3475 0377 or email info@salremovals.co.uk and we will explain it.

Who we are

Sal Removals is the trading name of Salremovals Ltd, company number 13257143, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 19 Uphill Drive, London NW9 0BU.

In these terms “we” and “us” mean Salremovals Ltd, and “you” means the person or business booking the work.

Quotes and bookings

Prices shown on this website are typical starting points, not a quote. Every job is priced individually.
Your quote is based on what you tell us and what we see at a survey: the items to move, the addresses, the floors, the access and the parking. Please make it as complete as you can.
A booking is confirmed when we confirm the date and price to you in writing, by email or message.
Your written quote sets out the price, what it includes, how and when to pay, and any charge for cancelling or moving the date. If your quote and these terms say different things, the quote applies.

If the job changes

If the job on the day is different from the one we quoted for, the price may change. The usual reasons are more items than listed, access or parking that is not as described, keys that are not ready, or waiting time that is outside our control. We will tell you the new price before we carry on, so you can decide.

What we need from you

Somewhere legal for the van to park at both addresses. If a bay suspension or a parking dispensation is needed, it is yours to arrange unless we have agreed in writing to do it. Parking fines that come from missing or wrong parking arrangements are charged on at cost.
Clear access, and lifts booked where the building requires it.
You, or an adult acting for you, at the property at collection and at delivery.
Everything packed and ready before the crew arrives, unless you have booked our packing service.
Notice before the day of anything unusually heavy, fragile or valuable, such as a piano, a safe, a marble or glass table top, artwork or antiques.

What we do not carry

Please keep cash, jewellery, passports, important documents, medication and keys with you. We do not carry them.

We do not carry anything that is illegal to hold or dangerous to move, including gas bottles, fuel, paint, chemicals and other flammable or hazardous materials. We do not carry people or animals. On clearance and waste jobs, anything that needs a specialist contractor, such as asbestos, is left in place and we will tell you.

Damage and loss

We handle your belongings with care, and our staff are fully insured. If something is damaged or missing after a job:

Check your belongings and the property when we deliver, and point out anything you can see to the crew before they leave.
Tell us in writing within 48 hours of the job being completed. Email info@salremovals.co.uk with your name, the job date, a description of the damage and photos.
Keep the item and its packaging as they are, so we can inspect them.

The 48 hours matter because they let us look at the damage while it is clearly connected to the job. To the extent the law allows, we cannot accept a claim for damage or loss that we are first told about more than 48 hours after the job was completed.

When a claim is accepted we will repair the item, replace it or pay a fair sum for it, taking its age and condition into account.

We are not responsible for:

damage to the contents of boxes or cases you packed yourself, unless the box itself was visibly damaged in our care;
items that were already damaged, worn or unstable, or furniture that does not survive normal dismantling and reassembly because of its condition;
scuffs or marks to the property where access is too tight for the item and we told you so before moving it;
the items listed under “What we do not carry”.

Cancelling or moving your date

Tell us as soon as you know. Any charge for cancelling or changing the date at short notice is set out in your written quote. If we have to change the date because of something outside our control, such as a breakdown, severe weather or a road closure, we will tell you straight away and agree a new date with you.

Storage

Storage is charged per container, per week, plus VAT, at the rate in your quote. Access to stored goods is arranged in advance. The rest of the storage terms, including how to end storage and when payment is due, are set out in your storage quote.

Waste and clearance

We are a registered waste carrier, registration CBDU469343. Waste we collect is taken to licensed facilities. You confirm that the items you ask us to clear are yours to dispose of.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have by law as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

If you are unhappy with a job, call or email us and we will look into it and reply as quickly as we can.

Using this website

The guides and prices on this website are general information. Council fees, parking rules and prices change, so check the details with us or the council before you rely on them.
The text, photographs and design are ours or used with permission. Please do not copy them for commercial use without asking.
We link to other websites, such as council and government pages, for your convenience. We are not responsible for what they contain.
We try to keep the website available and correct but cannot promise it always will be.
What we do with the details you send us is set out in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. We may update these terms; the version on this page on the day you book is the one that applies to your job.
