Sal Removals covers Hammersmith for house moves, flat moves, office moves and clearances, working from our own yard in Kingsbury, north-west London. The crew is our own team and the vans are our own, and we work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. A one-bed flat is typically a morning for two movers, a three-bed house a full day for three.

What a move costs

A studio is from £249, a one-bed flat from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399, for a local move without packing. For anything smaller, a man and van is from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, two-hour minimum, and a half day of two men is from £320.

Those figures assume a straightforward carry. What moves them is access, volume and how much you want us to do: packing, dismantling, a second van, a long walk from the door to where the van can park.

Getting in and out of the building

Flats above shops, purpose-built blocks with a service lift, and houses converted into two or three units all behave differently on moving day, so the survey asks about the building before it asks about the furniture. Useful things to tell us: how many flights and whether the stairs turn, whether the lift can be booked and how big it is, whether the block sets hours for removals and deliveries, and whether there is a bay, a yellow line or a permit space outside.

Where the van has nowhere legal to stand, the council can suspend a bay or issue a dispensation for a named vehicle. The fees and the notice period are the borough’s and they change, so we check what your street actually needs at the time you book rather than repeating an old figure.

Packing and materials

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house. Kitchen and fragile items only is from £99, which is the option most people take when they are happy to do clothes and books themselves. Storage between dates

If the new place is not ready, we load, hold everything in storage and deliver when it is. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearance and rubbish

Furniture you are not taking can go on the same visit. A single room, garage or loft is from £149, a one-bed flat from £349 and a whole three-bed house from £749, and a waste load is from £69 for a single item to £329 for a full van. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDU469343: what can be reused or recycled is sorted out, and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station.
