House and flat removals in Archway

Sal Removals moves homes and offices in Archway, with our own crew and our own branded vans coming out from our yard in Kingsbury, north-west London. We work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. A one-bed flat is typically a morning for two movers, a three-bed house a full day for three, and nearly every local move is finished the same day.

Before anything is booked there is a free survey. It settles what is going, how it comes out of the building, what needs taking apart and how much of the packing you want us to do, and it produces a fixed written price rather than an hourly guess.

What a move costs

A studio is from £249, a one-bed flat from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399, for a local move without packing. Below a studio, a man and van is the cheaper route: from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, on a two-hour minimum, with the same blankets, straps and trolleys as a full move.

Stairs, doors and parking

Flats in converted houses are the shape of job we do most here, and the staircase decides the day. We want to know at the survey how many flights there are, whether the stairs turn at a half-landing, whether the front door is shared, and how far the door is from where a van can legally stand. Beds, wardrobes and anything wider than the turn come apart before they move and are rebuilt at the other end, with the fixings bagged and taped to the piece they belong to.

If your street has marked bays or yellow lines outside, the council can suspend a bay or grant a dispensation for a named vehicle. The fee and the notice period are the borough’s and they change, so we check the current ones for your road at the time you book and tell you which route is cheaper for one van.

Packing, or just the boxes

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house, and kitchen and fragile items only is from £99. If you would rather do it yourself, we deliver boxes, tape and bubble wrap beforehand, priced per pack, and our room by room packing guide gives the order to work in and how to label boxes so unloading is quick.

Storage between dates

If the dates do not line up, we load the flat, hold everything in storage and deliver when your keys are ready. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearing what you are not taking

Anything not going to the new address can go on the same visit rather than turn into a second job. A single room, garage or loft cleared is from £149, a one-bed flat from £349 and a whole three-bed house from £749, and a rubbish load runs from £69 for a single item to £329 for a full van. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDL469340, so what we take is sorted for reuse and recycling and the rest goes to a licensed transfer station. The full process is on our house clearance page.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you move flats in converted houses?

Constantly, and they are the reason we ask about stairs before furniture. A shared front door, a half-landing turn and a bannister that will not take a wardrobe are what decide the crew size, so the survey goes through them first.

  • Can you move a student or a single room?

Yes. A room's worth of boxes and a bed is a man and van job, from £69 an hour with one man or £80 with two, with a two-hour minimum. It is the cheapest way to move a small load properly rather than in four car trips.

  • Do you help with the bulky things we are throwing out?

Yes, on the same visit. A single item is from £69 and a room, garage or loft from £149. We are a registered waste carrier, so it goes to a licensed transfer station with a transfer note, not onto the street.

  • How early do you start on moving day?

Most moves start between 8am and 9am so the load is on the van before the day gets away from you. We work until 8pm seven days a week, which helps when keys only come through in the afternoon.

  • Do I need to empty the drawers and wardrobes?

Empty anything heavy or breakable. Clothes can often stay in a chest of drawers if it is sturdy, and hanging clothes go into wardrobe boxes on their hangers. We will tell you at the survey what can travel as it is.
