Sal Removals moves homes and offices in Marylebone, out of our own yard in Kingsbury, north-west London, with our own crew and our own branded vans. We work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm, and most local moves are done inside a day.

The survey comes first and costs nothing. It covers what is going, how it comes out of the building, what has to be dismantled and how much packing you want done for you, and it ends in a fixed written price. Nothing on the day is charged by the hour unless you booked a man and van in the first place.

What it costs

A studio is from £249, a one-bed flat from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399, for a local move without packing. A man and van is from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, two hours minimum, and a half day of two men is from £320. That is the right choice for a single room, a few boxes and a bed, or a piece of furniture that needs collecting.

Lifts, stairs and where the van waits

Most Marylebone moves happen in buildings that have rules: a lift that has to be booked and padded, a porter who needs notice, a goods entrance used instead of the front door, hours when removals are and are not allowed. Give us those at the survey and the day is planned around them rather than negotiated on the morning.

The other question is where a Luton van can legally stand and for how long. Where there is nowhere, the council will suspend a bay or issue a dispensation for one named vehicle, and the fee and notice period are the borough’s rather than ours. Both change, so we check the current ones for your street when you book and tell you which of the two costs less for a single van.

Packing and materials

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house, or from £99 for the kitchen and fragile items alone. Clothes go into wardrobe boxes on their hangers, glass and mirrors are wrapped individually and carried upright, and every box is marked with its room. Storage between dates

When the new place is not ready, everything goes from the van into sealed storage containers and comes back out when you are. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearing what is left behind

Whatever is not going with you can be cleared on the same visit. A single room, garage or loft is from £149, a one-bed flat from £349 and a whole three-bed house from £749. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDU469343, so what we take is sorted for reuse and recycling and only the rest goes to a licensed transfer station.
