House and flat removals in Kensington

Sal Removals moves homes and offices in Kensington, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, with our own crew and our own branded vans out of our yard in Kingsbury, north-west London. We work Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm. A one-bed flat is typically a morning for two movers and a three-bed house a full day for three.

The survey is free and it comes first, in person for anything larger than a flat. It settles the volume, the access at both ends, what needs dismantling and what needs packing, and it produces a fixed written price rather than an hourly estimate that grows by teatime.

What the price covers, and what moves it

A one-bed flat is from £449, a two-bed from £699, a three-bed house from £999 and a four-bed from £1,399. That includes wrapping, loading, transport, unloading into the right rooms, and beds, wardrobes and tables taken apart and rebuilt by the same crew.

What moves the figure is rarely the number of bedrooms. It is the carry: stairs with a turn, a lift that other residents also need, a long walk from the door to wherever a Luton can legally stand, and how much of the packing you want us to do.

Buildings, porters and lifts

Much of what we move in Kensington comes out of buildings with rules of their own. If there is a porter, a concierge, a service lift or a goods entrance, tell us at the survey: most blocks want removals booked into a window, some restrict them to weekdays, and a lift that has to be padded and reserved is worth arranging a week ahead rather than on the morning.

Where the street offers nowhere legal to stand, the council can suspend a bay or issue a dispensation for one named vehicle. The fee and the notice period are the borough’s, and both change, so we check what your street needs when you book instead of quoting an old number, and we say which of the two works out cheaper for a single van.

Packing and protection

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house, and kitchen and fragile items only is from £99. Pictures, mirrors, glass and televisions are wrapped individually and carried upright, china and glassware go into purpose-made boxes with paper between layers, and everything is labelled by room as it is packed. If you would rather pack yourself, we deliver boxes, tape and bubble wrap beforehand, priced per pack.

Storage if the dates do not meet

A chain that slips by a week does not have to mean a hotel for your furniture. We load, hold everything in storage and deliver when the keys are ready. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container, and you only pay for the containers you fill.

Clearing what stays behind

Anything not going with you can be cleared on the same visit: a single room, garage or loft from £149, a one-bed flat from £349, a whole three-bed house from £749, and a single item removed from £69. We are a registered waste carrier, number CBDU469343, so what we take is sorted for reuse and recycling and only the remainder goes to a licensed transfer station.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you handle antiques, art and mirrors?

Yes. Pictures, mirrors and glass are wrapped individually and travel upright in padded cases rather than flat under other items, and heavy or valuable pieces are the first thing the survey looks at so the right crew and materials are on the van.

  • Can you work around a porter or a managing agent?

Yes, and we would rather deal with them before the day than on it. Give us the building's rules for removals, lift bookings and goods entrances at the survey and we will plan the slot around them.

  • Do you offer full packing and unpacking?

Full packing is from £199 for a one-bed, £299 for a two-bed and £399 for a three-bed house. Unpacking into the right rooms is part of the move, and we take the empty boxes and paper away with us afterwards if you want them gone.

  • How far in advance should I book?

Two to three weeks for a house move, more for a Friday, a month end or a summer date. If a bay outside needs suspending, the council sets the notice period, so the address is worth giving us as soon as the date is confirmed.

  • Can you move part of a house rather than all of it?

Yes. A part load, a single room or a few pieces going into storage are all normal jobs. Smaller loads are priced as a man and van, from £69 an hour with one man and £80 with two, on a two-hour minimum.
