A removal company on Wembley’s doorstep
Sal Removals is based in Kingsbury, the next district north of Wembley, so this is the closest thing we have to home ground. We move homes and offices across HA9 and HA0: Wembley Park and the new towers around Olympic Way, Wembley Central and the High Road, Preston Road and Tokyngton, and Alperton and Sudbury down to the Ealing border. Our own crew and our own branded vans, Monday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
Wembley’s housing splits into three kinds of move. The 1930s semis and terraces across Wembley Central, Sudbury and Preston Road are the bread and butter: a drive on many of them, a bay or a yellow line on the rest, and beds and wardrobes that come apart for the stairs. The Edwardian terraces near Ealing Road are tighter, with narrow hallways and no off-street parking, so the parking question below matters more there. And the new-build towers at Wembley Park are a different job altogether: a concierge, a lift you book in advance, and a loading bay the building controls. We ask about the lift slot and the building’s insurance paperwork at the survey, because most blocks ask for both before they release the bay.
Parking a removal van in Wembley
Brent Council runs 44 controlled parking zones, and they are widespread round Wembley Central, Wembley Park and the stadium. Check your road on the council’s CPZ map. If the van has to sit in a marked bay, Brent sells a parking bay suspension with home removals as a listed reason. At the time of writing it costs £67 per bay per day, plus a one-off £133 fee if you apply less than 14 days ahead. Changing a booking costs £30 and cancelling costs £101, so get the date right before you apply.
For a short job, a dispensation lets one vehicle stand on a yellow line for up to four hours: £38 per day on a single yellow, £73 on a double yellow, with £31 added if you give under three days notice. The council page asks for at least seven working days notice, and both products are applied for through Brent’s online form. Fees change every April; the suspensions and dispensations page has the current ones.
Moving on a stadium event day
This is the Wembley-specific problem. On event days at the stadium or the Arena, Brent runs an event day zone with permit-only parking: from 8am to midnight on the stadium approach roads, and generally from 10am to midnight in the residential streets around them. Vehicles without a permit are ticketed or removed. The council’s event-day restrictions page does not say that a booked bay suspension exempts you from those rules, so we do not assume it does. If your completion date is fixed on an event day, book the suspension well ahead and expect a slower drive in and out. If the date can move, tell us and we will steer you to a non-event day, which is cheaper, quicker and less stressful for everyone.
What a Wembley move looks like
A three-bed semi in Sudbury. A typical crew is three movers and two Luton vans, with the van on the drive and nothing to book with the council. Beds and wardrobes are dismantled, everything is wrapped in the house, and it is done inside a day. From £999.
A two-bed flat in a Wembley Park tower. Typically two movers and one Luton, with the lift booked for a morning slot and the van in the building’s loading bay. Boxes go down on trolleys, the sofa and bed come down last. From £699, and full packing the day before is from £299 if you want it.
A two-bed Edwardian terrace near Ealing Road. No drive, a bay outside, so a suspension is applied for two weeks ahead at the £67 rate. Two movers, one van, one day. From £699.
Clearing what you leave behind
Anything you are not taking can be cleared on the same visit, from £149 for a single room, garage or loft and from £749 for a whole three-bed house. We are a registered waste carrier, so it goes to a licensed transfer station. If you want to do a tip run yourself, Brent’s only site is Abbey Road Reuse and Recycling Centre in Park Royal (NW10 7TJ), open Monday and Thursday to Sunday, 8am to 4pm, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Cars need no booking. Vans count as trade and have to register with West London Waste first.

Moving to Wembley: the admin
Council tax and the electoral roll move to Brent, and your bank, GP and driving licence all need the new address. The passport question comes up on almost every move, and the answer is shorter than people expect: do you need to change the address on your passport when you move?

Questions
Frequently asked questions
-
How much does a removal in Wembley cost?
From £449 for a one-bed flat, from £699 for a two-bed and from £999 for a three-bed house, for a local move without packing. A studio is from £249. Every job is surveyed and quoted in writing first, and the biggest variables in Wembley are lift access and whether a bay has to be suspended.
-
Can you move me on a Wembley event day?
Yes, but plan it. On event days Brent runs permit-only parking on the stadium approach roads from 8am to midnight and in most residential streets from 10am to midnight, and unpermitted vehicles are ticketed or removed. The council's event-day page does not say a suspension exempts you, so if the date can move, we would rather move you on a non-event day.
-
Do I need a parking suspension in Wembley?
On most roads near Wembley Central, Wembley Park and the stadium, yes, because they sit in one of Brent's 44 controlled zones. A suspension is £67 per bay per day, plus a one-off £133 fee if applied for less than 14 days ahead. A yellow-line dispensation of up to four hours is £38 on a single yellow. Fees correct at the time of writing.
-
Which parts of Wembley do you cover?
All of HA9 (Wembley Park, Preston, Tokyngton) and HA0 (Wembley Central, Alperton, Sudbury), plus the rest of Brent. Our base is in Kingsbury, the next district north, so Wembley is home ground for us rather than a long drive out.
-
What should I expect from your house removal service in Wembley?
A free survey at your home, a written quote, then on the day our own crew wraps the furniture, dismantles beds and wardrobes, loads, drives and reassembles at the new address. Packing, storage and clearance of anything you leave behind are available on the same booking.
-
Can you move me out of a Wembley Park tower block?
Yes. The new towers around Olympic Way have concierge desks, bookable lifts and loading bays, and the building will usually want a lift slot reserved and a copy of our insurance in advance. Tell us which block at the survey and we will confirm what it needs before the day.
-
Do you offer storage in Wembley?
Yes. Storage is containerised, from £20 + VAT a week per container. We collect, store and deliver when your dates line up.
